Largo, Florida, September 5, 2007 – On September 1st and 2nd, 2007, Ker’s WingHouse Bar & Grill, the Florida based restaurant chain that specializes in hot wings and WingHouse Girls, attended the National Buffalo Wing Festival at Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo, New York. This was the 6th annual event that brought in more than a quarter of a million people and served a million and a half chicken wings. The festival has raised over $95,000.00 for local charities over the past five years.
Ker’s WingHouse placed 1st in the traditional x-hot sauce category.
Owner and founder of Ker’s WingHouse, Crawford Ker, attended the event. “What makes a good wing is the sauce you put on it,” Crawford said. “Now, we’re going into other kinds of sauces – oriental, honey barbeque, chipotle – and the wings are taking off.”
This festival enjoyed its largest attendance ever. “It was unbelievable,” said Drew Cerza, president of the festival.
The National Buffalo Wing Festival received more media coverage than ever. Among those covering the event was the production crew from the Food Network’s “Emeril Live” show. The festival will appear on an upcoming episode on Buffalo wings with Food Network legend Emeril Lagasse.
With plans to franchise at the end of the year, this festival was the beginning of the national launch for Ker’s WingHouse. The festival helped to show the nation that Ker’s WingHouse is on the horizon and about to take off. The festival is sure to be a meeting place for wing enthusiasts for years to come and Ker’s WingHouse has plans of going back each year.
